One out of four women will be the victim of an attempted assault or worse.
While there are plenty of women who feel that they would try to fight an assailant,
when the time comes, many find that they freeze up, giving the perpetrator a
chance to do whatever harm he can.
On 4ready.net, you can gain access to the information that you want to know
about. From directories, alternate routes for your safety, classes, and even self
defense weapons, you can find everything that you need to keep yourself
prepared.
When you think about self-defense, one of the first things that you think about is
actual, physical defense against the attacker. When you defend yourself against
your attacker, it is important to outsmart the attacker first. Rarely is it about
physical strength.
The attacker always has a plan. This plan is usually very detailed and rehearsed
in the attacker’s mind. The attacker knows that he has a better chance of
executing his plan if he has you in a place where he is in control. Since the plan
has been played out in his head so many times, any disruption may throw him
off, making him flee. Always keep this in mind. If he says he wants you to be
quiet, be loud. If he says move quickly, move as slowly as possible. Do
whatever you can to draw attention to yourself. Throw things, scatter trash, tip
over trash cans, bite him, claw at his face, do what you can to stall him.
What the attacker wants is to get you in his car and take you away. Don’t give
him what he wants. While the thought of physically defending yourself is scary,
the outcome of you following orders and getting into that car with him means
you will wind up dead. Foil his plan! Do not let him put you into that vehicle. Try
everything you can to break free and get away. If he has a gun, the chances of
him using it are 50-50. If you get shot, the chances of you getting fatally
wounded are 50-50. These odds sound much better than the nearly 100 percent
chance of you being murdered once you’re in his vehicle. If an attacker wants
you in his vehicle, fight for your life to get away from him.
